I'm now in my second S8. The first had full leather but no B&O. Upon learning that one had been wrecked, I sent it back to the dealership and (after several months) found another one.

This one (a 2007 Daytona/light gray S8) does not have full leather. Surprisingly, I don't miss it. There is enough "extended leather" on the center console and door arm rests to keep me happy and keep the car smelling like leather inside.

This one, however, does have Bang & Olufsen sound. I am not a particularly demanding audiophile. However, I have to say that this sound system is worth every penny of the $6,300 the original owner paid for it. It is everything you have ever read about -- and more. The crispness and clarity is something that I have never experienced in music, whether in a car or at home. The mids and bass are also tremendously tight and controlled. Don't believe anyone who says the digital sound reproduction quality is poor. Sound off my iPod (through a Dension Gateway 500) is incredible -- far better than anything I've ever heard. Really it is the most brilliant piece of audio equipment imaginable.

My recommendation: If you are looking at buying a used S8, do NOT buy one without B&O. This unique sound system is one of the fundamental appeals of the car (along with the Lambo-sourced V10....).
