It's my turn again, my soft close hasn't been working for a few months, I had to slam the lid to close it completely. I could here the soft close motor and mechanism working, but the latch stayed in the closed position when the trunk is opened, hence it never caught the lid latch. Lazy to go buy the spring, just fixed it, works perfectly. There are 3 snap-on buttons in the back and 4 snap-on pins on the top also, make sure to lift it up slowly and firmly.
