How Do I Replace a Battery Management Module
Many thanks
If you do scan your current one
Replace module
Scan again
Check coding
Clear any faults
And assuming fully charged battery is fitted at same time code it so the car is starting off with a good charged known state
By scan the current one, do I need to go into module #61 and do a scan there? If so I cant do that as the VCDS returns module not responding hence why I may have to buy a new one and fit it.
Many thanks
Tbh I can't remember if there is any coding to be done on them.
Have you checked the integrity of the little red wire on the battery post
I had a whole bunch of errors relating to the engine management module. I could also not access #61 through the VCDS. Also the battery level on the dash board MMI was also reporting zero.
I knew the battery was OK.
I removed the battery and replaced it with one from another car. This seemed to reset everything and the dash MMI showing 100%. The errors disappeared and #61 became accessible via the VCDS.
I then put the original battery back and all seems well. I'll monitor things for a few days to make sure everything stays well.
