My sister is looking at one as well.......
.....I saw one very briefly two weeks ago in DC. I just sat in it before I was sent away and it was pulled back into the car carrier. Dark blue with Ontario plates.
Inside looks like an upscale TL - not bad, but not up to Audi standards. I can see it competing with the A6, but certainly not with the A8
I think that Audi is one of the few (if not the only) companies that absolutely hides the airbag in the dashboard. The Acura had a visible Airbag cover.....

Audis and Acuras are different cars. What an Acura driver wants
in a car is not necessarily what an Audi driver is looking for. Acuras are basically bulletproof and offer dependable ownership. My only issue with them has been basically uninspiring design. The 05 RL looks like a hybrid Mazda, Honda, Toyota ect. An Audi is an Audi is an Audi.......!!

I will second Mr. G's comments. . . . I have spent my working life
buying almost any car I wanted every 9 to 12 months. . .each car has plus and minuses. . .and yes, I would compare the RL and C6. .the RL is no D3 for sure. . . .in the past I have selected cars based on my perception of their attributes in this order, "looks," reliability, comfort, driveabliity, and gadgets.. .and nothing will make me dump a car faster then repeated trips to the dealership for repairs. . this then is my history.
Having recently retired, I am doing my best (and "it ain't easy") to put price at the top of this list. I have worked hard for many years to get to the point where I have no installment payments of any kind. . .I have paid cash for cars and have no interest in paying anyone interest on anything. So considering price, there is a $10K difference between the new RL and a C6 with a 4.2 (this is the only C6 I would be interested in). . . there is a $28K difference between a TL and a C6. . . and if I was going to consider spending $60 on any car. . I would add to the prospective list a Porsche turbo ( a used one obviously).. . because I have never owned one, and have also thought they are the best looking mobile out there, period. In fact IMO the car closest to the engineering of a Porsche is the Audi.
For those of you with the "big bucks" still coming in. . enjoy yourselves. . life goes by very quickly and can end, without notice at any time. . that anyway has been my philosophy.
