S8: Back From the Paint & Wheel Shop (Photos)
As promised, here are some photos of my newly acquired 2009 S8 now that I'm finished with my mods.
I opted not to replace the grill and instead have the original painted. While at it, I also had the badging painted: front rings became white (against black); the rear deck rings and S8 badge, along with the side V10 badges, were sprayed black. I kept the chrome door and under-headlight trim untouched as it contrasts nicely with the aluminum-finished side mirrors.
The standard silver-finish wheels were powder-coated titanium, and the brake calibers were removed and painted red with new heat-resistant decals applied. The car came with the stunning carbon fiber option interior.
I'm quite pleased with the result and now feel the car is 'mine'.

Nice Choice! Custom color on the wheels is great. Not a huge fan of the calipers since theres very little Red on the car but it def makes the wheels pop more. Painting that front grill makes a world of difference from stock, very impressed with that as well.

The painted grill looks good, I'm unsure about the white rings though...but me liking it is not the issue. The wheels look great and I would have left the brakes alone...which is why this is your car!
Looks good mate!

Taste & Red Calipers
Thanks for the kind and candid remarks. Of course, there is no accounting for taste, mine included. For those of you unsettled by the red calipers, you may be disheartened by Audi's factory look for the R8 GT – with titanium-colored wheels, no less (below). To me a discreet splash of rosso corsa (sorry, renn rot) on an otherwise neutrally colored performance car (e.g., white, black, silver) adds a sporty and aesthetically pleasing contrast.

Looks great!
No car with a V10 should look like grandpa's Caprice.
I personally would not of touched the rings.
Red caliper's on a people hauler performance car is completely proper in my book. The car is deserving of it. The look you have is tasteful and in line with what the car truly is.
