Thanks for the update. To clarify, the spring is on the chassis not the lid? Any further info would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Tom

I thought my trunk went into winter mode(Brozee words) and wouldnt close. I did a search and found this thread. I dont hear a motor when trying to latch the trunk. It will not lock at all and remains open. I am having the same problems as the OP.

In the attached pic, is that the spring that you are talking about Mishar?

Going for the lock next..

Yes, that is the spring, but yours is OK. Try to clean and lubricate. It looks like that middle piece where latch should engage is a bit lower than it should be. Check the micro switch in there. I am not sure about this but there must be one.

I cleaned it up with Brakleen and WD40. I used anti-seize lubricant and moved everything around, still will not lock. I pushed the lock all the way up but it never locks. I should it be that or should it lock when push in?

Mike, pull the plastic cover off and clean and lube lock mechanism on deck lid, leave plastic piece off and try it.

Finally success!! Thanks JohnnyJ. I pulled the cover off(its just kind of pops off) and cleaned and lubricated it like I did the striker plate and it closed! The cover is still off right now. I will leave it off for today and put it back on tomorrow(Still at work and its getting a little cold outside.)

I had the same issue and I lube the trunk latched and worked for a while. After the second time it would not work, I just replaced it and now works every time.
