Default Hmm...CEL today...VAG SEZ: Misfire on Cylinder Six - 16690

This happened to me once last year. Cleared codes and was fine.

Since then I've replaced my O2s and Spark Plug wires. I had done the plugs about 1,000 before the first error.

What gives? Any clue? I feel somewhat stumped as to why it would happen every few thousand miles on one cylinder, once...

Cheers!

Did you run your car really low on gas? That will do it.

Try swapping the sixth cylinder injector to another cylinder and see if the fault occurs in the new position. This will prove whether or not the injector is getting tired.

Default EGR?

I had a missfire on (I think cly 6) that was caused by a sticking EGR valve. Took a clean out of the egr pipe under the intake manifold.

(IIRC cy 6 sits back by the egr, so when it stocks open, it pulls from the cyl and causes a misfire)
