Default Can a 4kq driver side rear drivshaft replace a CGT passenger side front?

According to Bentley the measuremnets are

CGT - pass side - 498.5 mm (19.63") {re page 40.22}

4kq - driver side rear - 498.7 mm (19.63") {re page 42.21}

So would 0.2 (1/5) of a mm in length effect anything?

I noticed on p 40.20 & p 42.20 that the inner CV outside diameters were different (CGT=100mm vs 4kq 108mm), anyone know if the bolt holes lines up still and maybe it's just the casing that's slightly larger?

Has anyone ever done this swap? Would there be anything else I should watch out for?

Default which joint is the bad one?

If it's the outer, pop it off each shaft and just use the CGT inner with the 4kq outer, on the CGT shaft.

if it's the inner, you're hooped as they are a different bolt diameter I believe.

Default Innner

The pass side CGT inner has a tear in the boot & I can't remember if the CV joint was good 3 yrs ago when it got parked. FIgure I'd better be safe then sorry before I put it back on the road.

So I was hoping for a nice cheap parts bin fix.

What about front 4kq inner's? Would they work as they have same outside diameter as CGT.

Default

Cool. Is disassembly of the joint from the driveshaft simple? I'm guessing it'll be a bit messy.

Default The outers are easy...

I can't remember how to do the inners.

The outer, however, just requires a tap with a hammer. I didn't even remove the boot, just the smaller boot clip
