Default I'm going in today to get my studded Pirellis balanced.

I have my snow tires on a set of 15" speedlines.

I may pick up a set of chains for the front because I will be going over a couple mountain passes for Christmas. So "if" they're required i'll have them.

I'll get the chains at Les Schwab because they have that return them if you don't use them deal.

Default Umm... can't put studs in used tires (well... you shouldn't).... they'll never seat properly

You'll just end up tossing the studs out.... the holes fill up with crap.

Default Where to get some good snows for a resonable price?

I checked out Tire Rack but they didn't seem to have anything too splendid in 195/60R14's. I hear good things about the Nokian Hakkapeliitta, and my mom has a set on her A4.
I guess I'll also need to get some steel wheels too for them to get mounted on, or maybe I'll just get another set of the Ronals...

Thanks for the advise again guys, I appreciate it. Trust me, I don't really want to be using snow chains it's just the law around these parts that you have to carry traction devices in certain areas...

Default Well no tire shops would balance my studded tires.

I went to 4 different places and even tried the "i'll pay you cash under the table no receipt" thing but no go.

They said that the tires are at the 8 year mark and they didn't want to risk it and put their name on the work.

It sucks because the tires still have the nipples on them!!

So I ended up buying from a local Audi friend a set of Ronals with some Cooper studded tires on them for now.
