Default Audi 200 -87 (MC1) rich idle

I´m sorry about my bad english language. I´m from Finland, but hope You understand.
I have problems with my euro model 200 turbo with MC1 engine. It´s running rich when idling, lambda shows about 750-800mV. When RPM is about 2000 mixture is fine. I have tryed to find fault using SJM´s tips, but didn´t help. No fault codes and I think fuel frequency valve is working.
Ecu´s coolant temp sensor works fine.
Does ecu read lamda when idling? When I unconnect the throttle switch lambda current changes about ~150-800mV, and ff-valve starts to click. Just like it does with 2000RPM. Throttle switch connected ffv clicks only part of the time or nothing at all. Should it be clicking audible all the time?

Default The FFV should be buzzing constantly .

Try adjusting you mixture via the 3mm allen on the cis fuel dist. ever so slightly until it buzzes constantly. You could also try replacing the single pole coolant sensor on the side of the cyl. head.

When my idle mix didn't fuctuate it was the O2 sensor that was bad. Read a constant voltage. I don't recall if it changed when the rpms were raised.

You should hear the FFV all the time. The ISV may have an effect here. read about trhe CO adjustment proceedure. Use a duty cycle meter to see where the FFV is operating. From there you can make adjustments. Based upon your report it does seem that something is slightly off. I would leave the CO adjustment alone until after you have checked everything else. I posted a lengthy report on using the DC meter to check and adjust the CO. A search should bring it up. HTH.

Default Re: Audi 200 -87 (MC1) rich idle

Thanks for tips!
I measured duty cycle and engine idling it shows nothing or maybe max.10 degrees, and it´s not buzzing audible. I have to use a cheap Equus meter, so I think it´s not most reliable thing in the world.
Engine idling I disconnect lambda and dwell meter shows ~45 degree just like it should be.
With raised RPM FFV buzzes and dwell meter shows about 30 degrees.
I think I´m gonna buy a new lambda sensor and after that try to adjust that K-system again.
If fuel frequency valve doesn´t work at all, does it cause a lean or rich mixture? I was thinking it causes a lean mixture, am I right?
Now I´m gonna use a search to find your story about adjusting CO.
