Buh-bye mr. Michelan Man hose
Well, the newest experiment - I see no reason it won't work. Before I have to hear bitching... yes, I know that one of the clamps is a worm drive hose clamp not a T-bolt... the T-bolt I have is too small for that spot - need the next size up!
It came out pretty well considering I couldn't fab the metal myself and had to send away dimensions for it.
I'm pretty happy to get my duct taped MM hose out of the way - that thing sucked... and was REALLY sticky.
Also, its kind of cool that I've been able to open up the intake restriction by A.) going to a straight piece of hose instead of the MM, and B.) getting rid of the 2 1/4 outside diameter outlet of the 3b intercooler.
Now I just have to tap the new lower metal bend that I had made for the WGFV to live, address my crazy overboost issue (I think it may have to do with my WG) and I'll be happily back on my way. It will be nice to get some non-boost leak gas mileage, too... amazing how that screws you if you have a leak. Car already drives 10 times better with a tight seal - had a frightening 2nd gear boost spike to 30 psi... god this thing builds boost pressure quickly.
I don't anticipate any problems with not having a MM hose... though you'll certainly be the first to know if for some reason this doesn't work out. I do need to replace the lower boost hose with a samco or some more fancy fabrication at some point.

http://putfile.com/pic.php?pic=5/13614391850.jpg&s=f5</a

One of the hoses is a touch off due to alignment...
it can be fixed with a better clamp. In the mean time - its got a plenty tight seal and also there is a beaded edge around the pipe so as long as its clamped behind that I don't think its going to be able to form any kind of leak.
Its also much more minor than it appears - that part of the intake pipe is bent at an odd angle... its about 10degrees or so out of spec.
