help wont start

Default help wont start

I just replaced the fuel distributor and it still wont start. It started fine untill I replaced the trany and the trany guy ran it out of gas and it hasnt started right since I replaced the fuel filter also put new gas in can anyone help with this problem?

1986 audi 5000 S 3.2 5 cyl auto with air non turbo.

Make sure the fuel pump is running, check fuse, relay, and pump

there is fuel comming out of the filter when i turn the key on.

the airplate might be stuck.. either remove the air cleaner and see if it will lift or remove the boot on top and lift it from there.

How much resistance should there be when trying to lift?

it will be somewhat stiff if there is fuel pressure from the warm up regulator. if its easy crack the fuel lines loose at the wur on the drivers side of the block and make sure theres fuel pressure there. if it's stiff then crack an injector line and see if you have fuel there with the pump running and the plate lifted.. the more you lift it the more fuel pressure.

Air plate will move also fuel pump is working

After I lifted the plate it started for about 15 sec then died I tryed to start again no luck then let it set for about two hours started for a few more secs then died when I pressed on gas pedal now wont start again Helpppppppp
