Who knew...
that when the warm air intake control box breaks in an accident, and you completely remove all of that crap since it was 99% broken from said accident, that the NF kinda sounds like it has a cold-air-intake on it...Interesting. I hadn't driven the 5kq in so long, that I was like "man, I SWEAR this thing is louder than it used to be..." Then I realized that the control box, ducting, etc was no longer on the car, providing very little noise cancelling, and basically allowing the (new) air filter to breathe through a "milkshake" straw, and not a "coffee stirrer" straw...
Also, if you haven't clay-bar'd and waxed your car, do so. Makes the paint smoooooooooooth.
Its now 5min til 3am here.
That is all.

yep, exactly how I have mine...
Sound really nice, at first I actually took that whole cover off and wired the airfilter on. That was really loud and didnt do much performance wise, so I put it back on.

Re: isn't that just letting more hot air into your system?
My other option was to spend more money and place a part that isn't really needed IME (been running the CQ w/out that system for around 4yrs now, no ill effects). I'll eventually run a duct from the opening to the grille. Only time it'll pull warm/hot air in is when stopped at a light. I didn't notice any adverse affects, and to me it seems like the cars better to redline now. Maybe I'm just imagining things...
