A/C question?

A/C question?
Hey guys, had an A/C question for you. On my 88' 90 I cannot get the A/C compressor to turn on. The combination switch was replaced about a 2 years ago. Heat and Fan all work fine. The A/C light on the activation button lights up. My mechanic and I can get the compressor clutch to engage by directly linking it in line with the battery, but not by pushing the button in the car. The A/C system is charged so I am baffled. Could the a/c button be bad? or a relay, fuse, etc....

i have kinda the same problem. While your A/C switch is on go fool around with your combination switch, at different angles it might turn on like it did for me, then i found the right angle and put it like that agains my headlight plastic cover. Thats where i would start atleast, if your 100% sure your AC is charged and working.
