Downpipe connection leaking on V8 S4
57 plate S4 avant, with 100k, noticed exhaust leak sound from front under car area. Apparently there is a pressed steel joint for the downpipes before the cat and its corroded/leaking. Only replacement part from AUDI or AUDI parts dealers is a cat and pipe at £1000.
I have seen a double clamp arrangement used in the states, but does anyone have a how to guide or similar experience ?
