Gutted cat == tingy?
When my car was in the shop they noticed some leakage at the donut where teh cat connects to the end of the downpiping from the manifold but now that that is corrected i still hear a tad of "ting" from the cat and it's gutted, should i replace it with straight pipe?

didn't Miktip post a link on ebay to a cat that's selling for $59.99?
...a guy can have 2 cars but can't afford a $59 part?!
common man, you're not even trying here...

damn you.
I have many other things to replace. here's a grocery list.
-Front ball joints
-Front bushings
-MAYBE tie rods
-Rear bushings
-Rear shocks
-Rear shock mounts
-Entire exhaust, maybe even the manifold
-Fuel Injectors
-ABS Wheel Sensors
-Wheel alignment when suspension work is finished
-Find a wheel shop to repair one bent rim
-Eventually figure out the distributor rattle
-Replace PS belt
-Replace lower door trim all around car
-Front brakes squeak bad, who knows there
-Rear calipers were unstuck but will need replaced
Obviously all of these things are fixed according to priority but for right now i'm focusing on exhaust as it's too loud to legally drive and front ball joints cause I don't wanna die while i'm getting a ticket for loud exhaust and going along with the exhaust, the tingy cat is just plain annoyance.
Yes I don't have a mere 60$ to put into a cat right now and my buddy owns a muffler shop, I can get the cat replaced with straight pipe for 5$. 5$ < 60$, i'll worry about replacing the cat when I get the critical issues fixed.
And for your "2 cars" comment, I purchased the Prelude when I was in Ann Arbor and making twice the income, now it sits in the garage conveinently for winter with storage insurance, until further notice, I can't even afford to drive it right now if i could.
The audi was 500$ and it runs and with any mercy from the car gods it's broken ill maintained parts will last me long enough to do things one at a time as money permits.

I know I'm killing the environment, but I, too, can't buy one right now.
