Longevity review... Vibrant 1134 stainless muffler... 2 years 8 months...
My original writeup was done in April 2006... https://forums.audiworld.com/9080/msgs/361967.phtml
This is what it looked like that spring...

Not much has changed. Just a little dirtier.
The outlet pipe was 304SS made from a Vibrant 'J' bend. The pipe running the length of the car is 409 stainless. The shop that sold it to me said "it's stainless, it won't rust". When I went back that afternoon and told them that 409 will rust, the guy pretty much told me to get lost. It's nice heavy walled pipe though, so it won't be rusting through anytime soon.
Very impressed. Really should have put a mid-muffler on the car, but after almost 3 years, I haven't gotten so annoyed as to do it yet. I actually love the way it sounds.
Oh... and the stainless Vibrant flex joint... also holding up very well too!

Nope... sprayed some fresh undercoating on... after patching a nice hole in the floor...
the heat shield above the muffler has been gone a while, and the floor has been punky for quite some time. It finally rotted through, so we welded in a new piece of floor pan from a parts car. Heat shield is gonna go on this spring... or later this winter... whenever I get it back on the hoist.

IIRC it was a rather steep parking lot entrance...
entered/exited a little quick, suspension compressed, managed to drag the exhaust tip. Must have been damned close to the bumper, cause that tip is almost flush with the bumper.
I did the same thing a few years back to a fog light... steep parking lot entrance, came in too quick, crunched a low fog light I had mounted on my VW Fox.
