<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/30890/img_1042.jpg"></center><p>from other pictures I have seen there should be a rubver bushing on top of the spring that covers the snap ring, all I have is a hard plastic part. makes me wonder if at some point it was upgraded? sure its only a rubber cover and does not effect anything.
getting a good look at the OE shift system makes you see how its not really the most hardy of designs and with the inverted C rocker, its rather bulky too.

that rubber cap could have been lst many times in 11 years. Buy a new stock unit and you'll loose a lot of slop that's there now.

1/2 the slop is up top, other 1/2 is the linkage
