Default weird question...

Does anyone know if the floormats from a 1995 90 will fit in a 1988 90? The only reason I ask is becuase the dealer can order floormats for the '95s but not the '88s. I know that the newer cars had the v6s and redesigned transmissions, but was the trans tunnel changed also, or how about the footwell? Thanks

Default I'm almost positive.....

....they are the same size!! You should have asked this 8 days ago....I could have went out and swapped mats between the two models!! Anyway, I'm almost certain they're the same size!!

My concern is how they attach the mats to the floor. Those of you with a '95, how does your mats attach to the floor?? Is there a strap on the back of the mat that fits over a screw (like on the '88) or is it different (like the LLoyd Mats pictured..see link)??

BTW, have you looked into these mats...

Default Lloyd matts

yup I have, but what's the quality difference between these and the OEM mats (which seem pretty good)? Here, they both will cost me the same amount.

Default Re: Lloyd mats

Don't know about quality (yet). I plan on buying some in the next month or so. I will know more at that point!!

Hopefully someone else has some experiences with them. I'd be interested to hear what others say about them...before I buy them myself!!

Default Cheap mats are good.

I needed mats for my 1995 90 and rather then spending $100, I just bought some universal mats from checker that cost 10 bucks. They look nice, fit just fine and are cheap to replace.

Default Re: Lloyd mats

The Lloyd mats are almost exact duplicates of the
OEM mats, I think the original Audi mats are just
a slight touce better quality. Just a teeny bit;
the rubber backing on the originals is a little
thicker. The mounting holes and the shape of the
Lloyds is dead-on to the originals. They make a
$100 version and a $150 version, I got the $100
mats and these are the ones I'm talking about.

Default Paolo9...

The ones that Blau sells for $109, are they the $100 ones or are they the $150 ones?

Those are the $100 ones I'm talking about.
Lloyd sells the $150 ones at another website, but
I couldn't justify the extra cost just for a
thicker weave...
