Default I think "the Borg"(the Star Trek TV show entity, not the 80's tennis star), said it best:

"Resistance is futile."

<yuk>

That Mazda needs boost. The only one I've ridden in(boosted), was doing so via a turbo at around 12 psi. Holy Shi'ite. Pretty quick, although it was gutted for autocross as well.

Anyway, I ordered two sets for the UrQ. May or may not use them, but I like to be prepared, and they were on sale. Figure I can always recoup after the price goes to normal, if not. I'm sure the car is going to be pretty prone to oversteer/neutrality anyway, but I really want to dial it in.

Just blabbin',

Default I forgot that you fight the mod battle on several fronts too.

I'd love to go crazy with the MX-5, but I know that once I take the first step onto the slippery slope, it will own me. I'm also promoting it heavily to the wife (she could care less); it think it would be a fun car for her...if the suspension isn't too stiff and it doesn't have too much power, etc.

Default True...they(Miata's), are such good cars for the track/autocross.

I'm trying to get my g/f into club events as well, but I'm having a tough time trying to figure out what car would be good for her to learn on. If I can find her a nice DD, then maybe she could use her Jetta, as it's a POS Mark III 2.0 anyway.

I'd love for her to really get into it. Would make my life a lot easier...

Default

Good luck with that - I think we are both fighting losing battles.

Default I feel good about my chances.

She's already agreed to accompany me to Barber. I think if I can get her in some instructor cars or with some intermediate drivers, riding shotgun(not with me), she'll enjoy herself. I'm not going to pressure her though. If she digs it, she digs it. If not...I'll live. :-)
