Default Mercedes owner looking at an A5

I found one local that was a trade in for a 911. It's a 2011 Premium White A5 with beige interior and 6 speed. The car looks flawless and well maintained. Only got 7345 miles.
Its not a very highly optioned car but that's ok since I have a 911S fun car. This is my daily driver and I sold an AMG Benz to get some realistically good economy with a car I wouldn't get bored with quickly. I really like the A5 and the way the car drives and handles.

I've checked out some of the forums and noted a TSB for Oil consumption with the 2.0 engine and a possible suspension issue.
Is there anything else I should look for in your opinion? I've gotten the price down to 36k and buying it from the fellow that does my maintenance on the 911 so I trust him(he also sells 911s of every vintage)..just want to ask the right questions since his real specialty is Porsche, not Audi.
Thanks
TC

TC, welcome aboard! Is this a CPO car from an Audi dealer?

Wow ..that was quick. Thanks for the reply!
No..it's not a CPO.
Actually the car was bought from the Audi dealer across the street. This car is at my indy maintenance shop. He also sells cars and has a pretty large business, very reputable.
The car has plenty of warranty left on it so I am not so concerned unless I am missing something.
He told me he completely checked the car over when he agreed to take it in trade for 911S. I have no reason to doubt him...he's been very good with my 911 and I have known him for a while.
He told me he gave the guy 38k in trade in and since he doesn't normally sell Audi's I am assuming he just wants to get it out of his shop.

That is an attractive price.

Does he have a good working relationship with the Audi dealer? Could he ask them to get a copy of warranty claims made? It can be helpful to know what little surprises may await

Thanks for the suggestion. He checked with the dealer and only warranty work was something with the passenger seat.
Drove the car about 20 miles and it was really nice through all driving scenarios.
Bought it. Going to drive it for a bit and then possibly do the APR tuning.

Oil consumption is a widely acknowledged issue. Control arms were a problem with '08 and '09 models but should not be an issue with a '11. Jerky automatic transmission (usually at low speeds) may require a software update and/or replacement of the mechatronics unit. That's all I can think of.

The theory that all turbo engines consume oil is about 30 years out of date. There are many turbo cars out there that consume virtually no oil. As for the RX-8, any comparison between rotary and traditional inline or V-shaped engines is totally apples to oranges.

Yes, I am well aware that a piston vs. a rotary engine is apples & oranges but was just making a point that you haven't experienced oil use until you've driven a rotary (its significant oil use also by design).

Thanks so much however for your almost constant critique of my posts.
You must have a better memory than me, as I don't remember critiquing your other posts but whatever. Your post in this thread was unnecessarily sarcastic in tone and essentially implied that anyone who is concerned about oil consumption with a turbo engine is an idiot. It was thus fully deserving of criticism.
