Thinking of jumping ship from BMW 750 to an S5 Cabio, any thoughts?
Here's the car:
New 2015 Audi S5 Premium Plus Convertible in Highland Park #A152015 | Audi Exchange
Think it has what I want for options. Price is ok, trying to finalize it tomorrow maybe. I used to be on this board with my A6 C6 but sold it after a year, it was too boring as a driver's car. Thinking an S model might be more fun...

Sounds like you'd be happier with an RS7.

Honestly, I've never driven a 7 series because I simply don't need a car that big, but I've owned '10 and '11 S5 Cabs and loved them both. They handle well, there is plenty of torque with the Supercharged V6, and the soft top and folding seats give the car more trunk space. The most disappointing thing for me was that the B&O system didn't really kick up the sound with the top down (though it does adjust). Even the Bose system in our G37 Vert gets louder and more pronounced with the top down.
Aside from that, the car is great to drive top down, with almost no wind buffeting. I also hauled large items in the back seat because there was no roof to impede the loading process. Top us, it is virtually as quiet as a coupe.
Lastly, it is just a classically beautiful car with a well-made interior. I'm sure it is not up to 7 Series standards, but you know what you're getting when you test drive one. Absolutely no complaints. And I think if I got another one it would be the Sepang Blue Cab that you're considering.

It is a big change from such a large car to a 2 door cabrio but I "think" I'm ready. I know it's the same engine as my 2012 A6, which didn't thrill me honestly, but I think the S5 is set up differently, at least in the suspension. Or maybe it's the rear sport differential, whatever that is.
The car itself is gorgeous, love the style and especially that color! One issue though, which I think is an issue with most convertibles, other than the MB E, is the noise while driving, probably can't use the phone easily and I'm on the phone quite a bit for work purposes.
As for the interior, it won't measure up to the BMW but that's not my concern. I love the 7 because of all the leather, etc. but don't need it.

Well, if you're driving with the top up there should be no noise issues at all. I used to make calls all the time in my S5 Cab. Top down may be a different story. Also, if you search the threads I think you will find complaints about voice command not being available in the Cabs. If you use that for calling it may be a negative. Some may have established workarounds or it may have been implemented in later models (my last one was an '11 model). Here is the thread...

Aside from that, it is a fantastic car! Good luck with your decision.

I have no problem making calls with the top up or down in my A3 cab. While voice control is disabled from the factory, probably because they do not want to get any complaints, it can be turned on by the dealer, at least in the A3. It works fine with the top up, but I have not tried it with the top down. It probably will depend on the amount of road noise.

Hey there - good luck with the choice.
I sold my 2001 Audi S8 and went the 2012 S5 Coupe. I was due for a new car and it's my daily driver, I just go downtown every day and was sometimes self conscious driving a 4 door car solo every day.
That said, I've had this car for nearly three months and my initial impressions are this:
Had to get used to being lower to the ground on entry and exit - not always easy.
Hard to get used to 2 door, I'm running teenagers around from time to time and picking up friends isn't alway easy.
Less trunk space.
Seats aren't as nice . . they are still the leather, but just aren't the same quality.
Couple other features not present on the car that the S8 had - auto steering column, seat return.
The good/great.
Car looks awesome.
V8 has a nice rumble to it.
Sport mode works well.
Electronics upgrade was awesome.
The car looks great.
It's really growing on me and it drives like a monster when I need it to. I generally drive as an adult, but there are times . .
The car looks great
I did think I was getting either the anglel/bullhorn DRL's and that's my only real disappointment.
Great car, you'll like it.
