Does the Audi S5 (USA version) come standard with voice-control? Is it an option if you get Nav+ or the tech Package? I didn't see it listed on Audi USA options so that's why I'm asking. Please let me know. Thank you.

My understanding is that it does come standard with the Nav package, however it is not available at all (similar to Hill-hold assist, Torque Vectoring, etc.) on the first shipments of S5 to the States.

If you haven't ordered yet, you should be fine as it should be on the cars by March.

Again...this is what I have gleaned from this board, any updates are appreciated.

I have ordered one and it will be here on Nov 4th. It does have the Nav+ package so what you are saying is that it will have it? Is that correct?

I have decided that it is a 95% useless feature. It's nothing close to the conversational communication between man and machine in most science fiction films. It's more like speaking to a dog, sometimes he listens sometime he goes his own way. The voice comands are not faster than the steering wheel buttons or the MMI interface, nor is it easier or less distracting. In short I have added my car to the long list of individuals I no longer speak to.

actually my understanding is that none of the S5 coming here before next year will have voice commands.

control head with the vehicle in motion, which is more than can be said for Toyota/Lexus (infuriating, to say the least).

The ONLY voice interface I've used that's worth a damn is the Honda/Acura one, by Alpine.
