A5 Seat cooling fan noise
2018 A5 Prestige S-line - The seat cooling fan is very noisy, sounds like a small jet engine, wondering if it is just my car or it's common.

Yeah same here, really surprised me when it was new.

It’s not distracting to me while driving, but I can hear it, especially if I pull my back off of the seat. I do have to say that it cools much better than our previous Infiniti. I guess Audi’s “suck” adaptation of ventilated seats works better than Infinit’s “blow” adaptation.

I was making some MMI adjustments with the car in the garage yesterday. I did not have the engine on but I gradually became aware of a slight fan noise and when I looked at the dash, sure enough I had the seat ventilation on high. Without the engine running, that was the first time i’ve heard the fan. It was what I considered to be very quiet.

No A5 here but both my SQ5 and A7 have loud seat ventilation fans. The A7 is louder than in my SQ5 though. Same thing in my ex-A6. Something that I’m used to I guess.
