Default Front filler panel or no filler panel on RS5 Sportback?

Posted over on Audizine as well.

Does anyone know if the RS5 sportback has an actual filler panel? Or does the grill just have two black "nubs" where you mount the license plate bracket?

I'm about to make a purchase this weekend and have 4 dealers competing on price. 2 dealers have the front license plate bracket installed. Two do not. I don't want the front license plate bracket installed.

The two dealers that have the license plate bracket installed have said they'll throw in the filler panel in the deal. Then one came back and said they would need to replace the entire grille for $2800.

I don't think the RS5 has a filler panel, its just two filled in honeycomb cells where you drill in to. So I am guessing if the bracket is already installed then you will have two holes in those cells when you take it off. I am sure you can plug it with some caps and it would be easy to hide. Makes me wonder what the front plate delete option actually does on the RS5....

Thank you. Appreciate you jumping in so quickly. I’m thinking the same as well.

And I wonder the same on the front plate delete. One of the vehicles has it listed on the Monroney sticker. So apparently it’s something you can opt for???

The only thing they could do would be to make those two honeycomb cells empty as opposed to filled...I guess I will find out soon enough.

You can remove the front plate bracket and re-insert 2 black screws in the front grill that are very hard to see.

It would be really easy to fill the holes with putty and paint it black.

All good at this point. Found a dealer that had one without the license plate bracket installed.

Yes, I wish I had the dealer remove my bracket before delivery. it was a bit to remove, but it looks so much better without it. We can opt for a windshield sticker here instead of a front plate for an extra $100
