Ask to try another 2018 a5 or s5. That's what I did at the dealership and they don't work.

I had a 2013 A6 and no problem programing homelink.

ah got it. Sucks btw. Has anyone figured out a solution outside of getting a non Liftmaster?

Call Audi USA and Homelink and let them know that it's not working. Hopefully these two will come out with a fix!
At the mean time, carry a handheld remote in the car.

Same issue here. Tried several times using the remote. No luck. Then switched the opener to learn and tried again. Again no luck. Could be the opener (Chamberlain Liftmaster) since I can't get it to work with two other cars. Or, yes, it could be me!

I'm taking my car in to officially have them complain to AoA about this, and to flash the camera TSB next Saturday.

Exactly the same. Programmed Liftmaster first time but range is ridiculous. I have to be sitting in driveway.
At least it works.
