Sucks to see that happen to anyone, but glad you're OK. I went through the diminished value deal a few years ago. I had an Infiniti M45 Sport for about 4 months when an older lady backed up from her parking spot into my driver side in a parking lot. I was pissed. When it happened, a friend of mine put me in contact with a Diminished Value Consultant who did a report for me to submit to her insurance company.

Not long after the car was fixed, her insurance company gave me another check for about $5,000. Definitely worth the small fee I paid the independent consultant.
