If you’re asking about the hands-on module his cores have them already installed. All you have to do is transfer over the factory paddles and buttons.
sorry, I had a shop install mine…
fyi— you’d also need to add heat option if you don’t that’s the only error code you’ll get. Mine has heater option so that’s not an issue

So from what I see, he uses the round steering wheels and sculpts it to look like a flat bottom unit.
you can tell by the centre trim, the flat bottom ones are much shorter.
which is why the wheels have the hands on detection sensors and modules.
The real flat bottom units dont have the function. Except the rs6 units

from what I can see too, the module he used isn’t OEM… looks different than the one on my factory wheel. But all that matters is it works lol

Apprehension gone !
Finally got my flat bottom steering wheel from AskCarbon. We( my indy guy and I) did the install yesterday, and I'm pleased to say that everything works even the heating option that I requested. I was full of apprehension going into this project but everything worked out. If you elect to have the leather air bag cover be prepared to dismantle the air bag assembly, especially the "bomb" part lol. Took us about an hour to install. Mine was perforated leather all around and leather air bag also with the heated function ( my S5 came with a heated SW) and cost less than $1500.

I also picked up an AskCarbon Steering Wheel for my '23 RS5 Competition Coupe. As luck may have it, a flat-bottom w/red threading, Matte Carbon top & bottom, and air leather on the sides was advertised in the Classifieds section of this forum.
Today (5/3), I had Achtuning in Redmond, WA, perform the installation. No issues - everything works. Ok, I didn't try the lane assist, but I never use it anyways, and no DTCs after the installation.
I also had Achtuning switch-out the Alcantara Shifter Wrap with the Air Leather Shifter Wrap, to match the Air Leather on the AskCarbon Steering Wheel. I am very pleased with the feel and the looks of the steering wheel in the Competition interior, which is trimmed-out in Matte Carbon, as well.
Note: I am missing the "RS5" badge. I ordered a badge, but it was chrome letters & number. The badge I need is the same as the one on the Comp Shifter Surround, which has blacked-out letters & number. I'll work on getting that ordered soon.

Another AskCarbon custom steering wheel here, for my 2023 RS5 Competition. Opted for smooth leather on top/bottom with Alcantara on the sides, matte carbon trim, red stitching, and a custom airbag cover. Like the others this is the fully loaded version with ACC, Lane Assist, Heated Steering Wheel all fully functional. Also opted for the R8 style Star/Stop and Drive Select buttons, and both are working just fine. Finished up with a pair of Enthusiast Brand Urus style shift paddles in powder coat. Honestly, this feels like the steering wheel the car should have come with, and it feels about as amazing to drive with it as it looks. Bit on the expensive side but to me it was worth every penny.
