Default allroad vs. a6 avant - first impression after comparing the drive

After driving the A6 Avant, it just seems the allroad has more kick off the line. But maybe because I'm still breaking the Avant with only 400 miles. The allroad's power really showed after 20,000 miles.

On the other hand, the A6 Avant seems to have more mid-range power and feels quicker when accelerating from 40-50MPH to 90-100MPH.

The A6 Avant's ride is a bit softer. I'm more use to the aire suspension ride of the AR. While the allroad's turbo engine and transmission got smoother after a couple thousand miles, the naturally aspirated engine of the A6 Avant and its tranny feels smoother than the AR.

The allroad's drive and engine is closer to the new A4 Avant 2.0 (which I almost got), while the A6 Avant's drive is closer to the Audi Q7 and Lexus Gx470.

Just my 2 cents.

Default

A6 makes the allroad look "dated/old" in some ways.

Default I got to drive the new A6 wagon at the Streets of Tomorrow

And was quite impressed with the ride and handling. No doubt the engine was not broken in per the book as most of us that took the car out flailed the poor beast near redline in 2nd gear. The car felt tight. The interior was VERY nice too. If they offered a 6-speed TDI here in the US, I'd buy it in a heartbeat!

Default A6 Avant did 22 MPG and performed like AR using "S" mode

Today I filled up the A6 Avant's gas tank and I did 22 MPG (mix city and highway).

I tried using the 'S' mode and it acted and shifted like the allroad. If I use 'D' mode, it goes into this gas saving mode (where the shift to 6th gear is more frequent).
