Auto dimming mirror w/compass
Has anyone ordered and installed the auto dimming mirror w/compass? If so, was is an easy installation? How is it done? The price at Clair parts was $226.99 and at the dealer it was $267.05 not including installation.

It looks like it is pretty easy
There is a small connector that supplies power to the mirror that seems to have the same connector as the non-compass mirror. It is behind a little plastic shield on the windshield. The bigger issue is the mirror mount that is glued to the windshield. It looks like the easiest way to replace the mirror will be to grab the old one firmly and pop it out of the swivel ball on the old mount, leaving the mount in place, then pulling the electrical cable from within the mount, and then do the opposite with the new mirror. I saw this done at an auto show to a mirror that someone had popped out of the mounting ball. The mirror is supposed to "break away" as a safety feature, so popping it out it somewhat scary, but easy to do. I plan to get the compass mirror soon, and when I install it I will document the process.
