Can a 2002 heated steering wheel be fitted to a 2003 ar?
AND not cost a lot of money to get the heating bits working? (this assumes a steering wheel is picked up cheap from a dismantler).
I did search the archives, don't think anyone has tried this yet....

I dont know the exact parameters of the circuit that the wheel operates on
I dont know what controls its on/off operation.... you will need to trace that and determine what additional hardware is required... for starters you will need a clockspring because the wheel gets its power through the clockspring iirc. Beyond the clockspring I dont know where the circuit goes to.

My understanding* is that it comes on with the driver's seat heater, beyond that I don't..
...have any details. Maybe I'll pick up the Bentley CD before I actually buy the car. (was thinking of grabbing a VAG-COM too, and Ross-tech is about 20 minutes from here)
