PSA: Try not to bend your allroads.
I don't know if folks remember, but our allroad was dinged back in August. Our insurance decided not to total the car, since the estimate for repair was around $7k. The body shop (which is affiliated with an Audi dealer) just got the parts in to do the repair job after more than a month of waiting. If this is how Audi is planning on continuing support for these cars, I'm not sure how long I'll keep it.

Crash

OK
Hard to comment, but FWIW regardless of american cars and foreign cars, dpending on the type of repair, wiating for special parts is not uncommon, yes even a month or so. Assuming the repair shop ordered the parts on day 1 of your or your insurance's order to proceed, and then the dealership did the same which also is very rare.
IMHO to blame the manufacturer is not always justified depending on the chain of events.

Agree...
My wife went into a rock with the A6 avant, the shop had to wait for one part for a couple of weeks. Fortunately most of the work was done and we were able to pick up the car and come back when they got the part. LIke Paul said, it could be the insurance too... depending when they give the OK to order the parts.... Keep us posted on the repair...

It's not good when the shop owner (affiliated with an Audi dealer) says...
that he has never had this much trouble getting a part (a frame rail-nothing special) from Audi. The parts were ordered nearly 5 weeks ago.

FWIW I have thought this in the past as I am new to German cars..
but my husband drives a very common company-mobile the new Impala ('06) and had some problems with the running lights and a couple of other things...they had to order parts (this is a huge dealer that normally has everything in stock) it was several days and cost $800 for a car that isn't a year old. So, now I'm just thinking it is that newer cars in general are more complex and dealers and others don't want to have expensive parts on hand if they don't know when they will need them. Just thought I'd offer that perspective. But, I feel your pain on not having your vehicle as I had a Suburban totaled for me by a moron and had to drive a POS van for over a month while they figured out what to do about it. Finally totaled it out so I could buy another but took what seemed like forever.
