Radio security code

If you buy a used Allroad, 2003 to be exact, and did not receive the user manual or the radio security code, will the radio work after you disconnect the battery?

I disconnect the battery and remove the radio for about 3 days in a 2002 model. When I reconnect the radio give the lock message. I went for my code but didn't need to use it because after a while, about a minute or so, the radio came back on without needing a code. It worked ever since.

Did the radio detect that it was installed in the same car and thus give full access or that was a glitch?

I bought another car and did not get the security code for the radio. Will I have a problem getting the radio to work if I disconnect the battery?

Radio is BOSE/Audi Symphony

Provide dealer with vin, and radio S/N and they'll provide u with code.

I've disconnected the battery in my 02 for several hours while I worked on some stuff. Radio came back on like normal but I've never removed it so I don't know how that would affect it.

I've only experienced the radio locking after it (Radio) was disconnected.

Disconnecting the battery doesn't seem to affect it - I've had my battery disconnected for up to 8hrs. I'm not sure about having it disconnected for longer so it may be best/safer to get the code from the dealer.
