Default Vehicle Studdering... Need suggestions...

Sometimes during hard accelleration my car will studder and will then go.

Originally I thought maybe it was a problem with one of the DVs. I put a vacuum on the little nipple and do not see a leak on either DV.

I checked for fault codes, and don't see any.

What else can cause this sort studdering? Do DV's stick at all?

Thanks!
Gavin

And the reason you don't let the dealer fix this for free is?

Default 2 Reasons...

1. My dealer is quite far from me.
2. Since the symptom is intermitent I am betting they will come back with a "no trouble found".

Default The short answer is I don't have a clue...

In the old days (I had a 1973 Triumph TR-6), I'd check for bad spark plugs, fuel filter, timing and stuff. I'd get a fresh supply of fuel from a different gas station. But with newer cars and all the electronics, I'd say you need a VAG tool at least to try to see if the engine is spitting out codes that give you a clue. So without taking it to a dealer I can't offer any help. Sorry.

With my limited knowledge, i would have said spark plugs or fuel delivery (filter?), maybe new DV's?

Default 1 bottle of Chevron Injector Cleanr with Techron please....

This is my choice.. for what could be fouled injectors. I use it when this happens on any car and it is safe for an Audi.
