I got a "next generation" device.

What you buy depends on what you want it for. I'm mostly interested in observation, so I bought the minimum bundle. YYMV.

Worthwhile depends on what you want. This sort of tool gives you far more visibility into how the systems of the car work, clear errors, and also the ability to change some things. I would almost never clear an error, and only rarely would consider changing something.

Awesome, thanks for the details! I was hoping to be able to unlock features like ambient lighting as I have a premium plus model that doesn't allow you to turn them on.

Please, do let us know if you find a way for those lights. I’ve been looking with no luck so far.

This has been very well documented on many other models: not possible https://www.audiworld.com/forums/a4-...hting-2912565/

I think the difference here is that the e-Tron actually has the parts installed it's just blocked by software. It's an offering in Audi's "Function on Demand" that is 1 1\2 years past it's release date. Ambient lighting along with things like park assist can be enabled on the car as part of a subscription model. I'm guessing it's very guarded to not allow these tools to unlock them with Audi missing out on revenue should they ever figure out how to actually release the service.

Happened last night again. I held the key in my hand, and put it on a desk after returning home to test for inadvertent button presses.

Buy or borrow an ODBeleven.

I got a "next generation" device.

DISABLE REAR LID OPENING WITH REMOTE KEY
- Disable opening of rear lid when double clicking the middle button on the remote key
- Alternatively set the value to "0.40 s" to keep the function, but only with rapid double click.

Adaptation
Control unit: 46 Central Module Comfort System

"Heckklappe öffnen durch Doppelbetätigung der Funkfernbedienung" = "Open the tailgate by double actuating the radio remote control"

I disabled it, 0.0 seconds. Seems to work. Lights flash when pushing the tailgate opening button on the key, but tailgate does not open.

I'm wondering if its the kick sensor, and not the keyfob.....
my kick sensor is very dodgy and will often trigger when I'm standing working on something in the back with it open, etc...
It hasn't happened to me that it's opened when I'm not around... and it seems that I have to have my key on person to trigger it...but perhaps there's a fault in that system
