Default Q8 in service for software updates - six weeks ago and counting

So... Tuesday this week was exactly six weeks since I took my Q8 in for the rear view camera recall software update. I asked them to also do the update that stops the MMI losing favourites and they spotted another update due. All good - they got me a loaner (gasser but better than nothing - it's a long way from home) and they expected it to take a day or two - noted that updates often need "overnight".

Anyways, it turns out they had issues doing it and despite weekly apologies, updates that they are working with "TAC", that last week their "shop foreman" is now assigned to it - nothing, no progress, and another week rolls by, not even returning my calls now.

On the dealer's advice I contacted Audi customer care (Canada) a few weeks back. All I've got from that was an autoreply email about a week later telling me they are updating their systems so responding slowly. No sht.. Nothing from them since.

Starting to wonder is my car bricked? The ineptitude of Audi around software really is incredible.

It's got 21,000km, bought last year. No lemon laws in Canada (Ontario) that I'm aware of. I think I'm at least due my monthly payments back since I have no car to use. Gas is also annoyingly expensive!

What would you do? Anyone had similar experiences?

How far is the dealership? I would make an unannounced visit straight to the service manager's office.

Yeah that thought had crossed my mind. It's a 30-40 minute drive on a good day.

I would consider consulting legal advice as surely Canada has some robust Consumer protection laws for relatively new vehicles?

Took in our 24 Q8 e-tron on 2/26, the tech had the recall update and the annual service/inspection completed in 3 hours, while I waited. The dealer did re-schedule me about 2 weeks earlier because of 'back end system changes' that were needed in their system. So far, no side-effects or untoward behavior.
It could be your experience (and perhaps a number of other folks as well) was what precipitated the said 'back-end system changes', and the car got gronked to where they need something extra to resurrect it.
