Default fixed my car. i was able to extend the wires and solder everything back together

i did a nice job with several layers of heat shrink to protect everything. car is completely back to normal.

Now i will take the money I saved and buy new spark plugs

Default yessir, i'm boosting away.

gotta be careful not to snag anything when changing the steering damper. That's the pop i heard initially.

Default So what I think you just said was....

you changed the steering damper but somehow when you did so, you rearranged the position of the G66 knock sensor cable such that while you were driving, the cable got snagged on the steering damper (or the steering rack or something) duing a turn and you ripped off the G66 cable ("POP!"). The ECU responded by saying "WTF?? There is no more signal from my little buddy, the G66 knock sensor, so, in order to protect the engine from damage, I am not going to allow ANY boost, over that provided by the wastegate spring, at least until my owner, that sonbitch, fixes my little buddy".

Something like that?

btw, the 3 pin knock sensor connector is the same as the power connectors for the coilpacks.

Yahbut, finding dead VW three pin O2 sensors will be an easier source.

Default i called a couple yards and none of them would let me poke around and they didn't have any plugs

i told them the year of the jetta and they looked and said they didn't have any plugs that looked like that. they also had no dead O2 to sell. I'm not gonna pay $80 for 2 used O2 when i just need 2 connectors.

Find a friendlier yard or shop. I paid $10 each (too much) at a wrecker.

Default there's not too many places around here that let you pick your own parts

i think for fear of injury. I'm sure they're not insured to have customers in the yard. I know of one place but they charge to get in.
