Default Great! A replacement for a cracked EM.

And they give you the hours of your life back that you take to replace it? Or the money you paid a mechanic to install it? No?

Then it just plain ain't worth it. Buy quality first, install it, and forget it.

Default I've got some dyno numbers shortly to show the improvement.

Exhaust does present an improvement. Granted it is small compared to Stage 1 or RS2 turbo's but.
It is a positive contribution.

Default I disagree! A Stromung drops the vehicle weight by 68 pounds, THerefore...

the physics of the situation means. F = MA.
an identical car, with a OEM, will be slower to accelerate.
than SAME car with a Stromung.

THe mass of the Stromung equipped car is lower and will accelerate FASTER than same car with OEM exhaust

68 pounds less, IS 68 pounds.

You' can't refute that in a technically correct manner.

I support Germnatoy's statements!

Default Actually - almost equal to a 3" (do the math - stupid page won't allow symbols like pi or almost =)

Or the square of |Skollie's name.

Default Yeah, a hobby.

I like stuff that actually improves performance. I ain't paying $1.5k for better sound. In fact, one of the reasons I bought this car is that the cabin is nice and quiet at 100mph.

Now, if I were going 3071GT, I'd absolutely have this exhaust on my list. RS2? No way.

Buell? Why do I want a Harley when I can buy a Ducati? Or an Aprilia?

I'm all about the stealth factor when it comes to cars - anything that draws attention (other thna blowing the doors off some poseur) had better come with a fairly steep performance gain.

Default You realize that 68 pounds is about 2% of GVW, right?

And I'm being generous. While nice, the weight savings will not noticably improve performance.

Default I think it has it's place.

And I think there's a lot of agreement about quite a few things:

1.) The Stromung stuff is very high quality. You definitely get what you pay for with this stuff.

2.) The weight savings is nice, especially when you're doing the on-your-back install.

3.) Being able to get a custom DP so you can run the GT turbos is great.

4.) If you need to replace the stock stuff with quality aftermarket, there is only one call to make.

5.) Up to RS2, the performance gains are small - or zero, depending on whose dyno charts you have in hand. Above RS2, you're going to need something bigger than stock if you want to get everything you can.

For reasons 1, 2, and 4, I wouldn't hesitate recommending Stromung.

Default Yep! and we ARE quibbling over minute discussion points BUT!

I am technically correct. It can be measured.
Prove me wrong..
