I had a new tank installed. The noise is a lot better but still present at times when close to a half tank. Full tank there is no noise and under a half no noise. Sounds like there still is no fix, just replace the tank. Same issues on the Porsche Cayenne board from what I have seen.

My 23 Q8 prestige with 1800 miles on it has now been at the dealer for 2 weeks for this issue…
test drove with shop foreman on drop off day and confirmed noise.
1st attempt was to replace vapor canister… fail, noise still present.
2nd attempt is “Fuel pump rattle” they are ordering parts. ETA next week. We will see how this goes…
I have a good video but apparently it’s too large to post.

I'm having this same issue, 2021 Q8, ~16k miles. Is this something that needs to be repaired or puts the car at risk of further damage/issues? Or is it simply just a noise and can be ignored?

There is nothing to suggest that the car is at risk; however, the noise is rather annoying. I've just recently had Audi investigate this to no avail as they too are aware; however, does not seem to address this with an sense of urgency stating that it is normal. I do not agree with it being "normal" and I've voice my displeasure with them suggesting that any owner should be ok with having such noise coming from a vehicle costing $70k +. It's utterly ridiculous.

Sorry I'm late to this thread so this may have been discussed already. From the video I've seen of this noise on Facebook and the fact that it seems tied to fuel level at least for some people, my STRONG suspicion as an engineer is cavitation in the fuel pump. This would also tend to explain the fuel pump failures that resulted in the recall.
