front stage opinions
I just bought another Audi A4 and need some opinions on this setup. I have a 10" IDMAX for my sub. For the front i was thinking about ID horns paired with 5.25" drivers in the doors. Anyone heard these? Everything i have read seems to be good. I would then possibly like to get 1 kick panel on the passenger side for a 6.5"-8" sub(midbass). I currently have 6.5" a/d/s 346is components out of my passat. I think they sounded great. I just dont like the idea of a modified kick panel on my drivers side where it would interfer with wiring and my leg room.(plus the $550 price quote for building them) Thanks!

Yes yes yes yes yes!!!
I heard a pair of ID horns in a Z350 recently - absolutely stunning. In my next car, if I do an audio system (big IF since it seems like such a money pit!) I'll definitely go with horns. The imaging is stunning. In the Z it sounded like there were speakers in the front windshield. The stage was almost at the level of the rearview mirror.
If you get the budget models, and a nice pair of midbass drivers for the doors you're still only looking at $500 or so. Only thing, I think they're very power hungry.

You can build kickpanels for both sides that do not sacrifice leg room.
You will have to move the wiring out of the way, and you may have to cut some of the metal back there, but the end result is awesome, especially if you want 6.5" speakers up front. Check my pic poster for some pics of my kickpanels (6 1/2" Boston Pros). I suppose you could do an 8" sub in the passenger side only, but I'd expect that to take up a lot of room, even for a relatively small enclosure.
Good luck.
Good luck.
