I agree. If you use it properly, the results can be quite good w/ the stock HU.

and 200 for the sub (rms)
The sub sounds fine its just the speakers.
the rears seem like they have no treble
and the front's are all treble i might
try to switch amps tommorow and see what happens.

Default What do you think the prob is w/ his system, then?

From my experience, replacing the HU was by far the best single upgrade, and also one of the largest things holding a system back. When you put other aftermarket components in, i don't understand why people leave the stock HU, or stock wiring. I guess its possible to get away w/ stock, but i'm kinda a snob when it come to music, (more of a ****). But i've got my entire system in my garage right now and i'm running stock, so what would i know about audi's (except my symphony deck really enjoys eating my tapes)

Default why didn't the installers see a problem with anything...

that is a bit unsettling that they would install all that stuff out and and then not notice that the sound was crap...didn't you get a demo when the install was finished? if i spent that kind of money and all they did was pull the car around and hand me the keys, i would be taking my business elsewhere. the head shouldn't be causing that much of a problem, of course an aftermarket head will help, but it sounds more like a problem with the line-level converter.

Default I have no idea what his problem is, but it's NOT the HU, because I and others run the stock HU and

Don't have his problems. He's using quality components. He hasn't provided any new info that may help diagnose his problem, so no one can help him until he does.

I think teamishun is the most accurate so far.
