Default More Problems...

Ok I have been having some trouble with dc offset, so I decided to try and resolve the problem. After my feeble attempts it seems to me that I now have alternator whine...something I did not have before (doesnt seem to be all the time).

The only thing that I can seem to read up on in the forums is HU grounding Issues. All that I know in regards to HU grounding is that there is a screw on the back that I have been grounding things to and that it had one thing on it to start with.

I have also herd somethings about grounding RCAs (https://forums.audiworld.com/audio/msgs/48513.phtml). Again I have no idea whats going on there.

What do I need to do to properly ground the HU? I have now been behind the radio four times and I am hoping and praying that if I ground the HU correctly that both my DC offset and my newly occuring alternator whine will be elliminated.

TIA

Default What is the amp grounded to? Find or scrape the paint away on the body and attach the amp's ground

to the bare metal with a self tapping screw.

Default The amp is grounding properly...(did that)

I was doing a little troubleshooting with avincar a while back and we came up to the conclusion that the amp was ok and that it had to do with the HU/rcas.

Default Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

I have been trying to get Dc offset fixed for a long time and now this alternator whine is driving me crazy.

I would love to be able to fix this myself...but I am almost to the point of finding a shop to do it.

So I need help with this problem or A name of a good audio shop in central jersey that would look into someone elses install to fix random problems?

How are you connecting the RCA's to the HU? Blau adapter or via the existing Audi wiring?
