Club Audi NSW Time Trial @ Eastern Creek - in the WET!
<b>Time Trial - Eastern Creek in the WET!</b>

If you like the smell of smouldering brakes, unburnt high octane racing fuel and the sweet sound of an RS4 engine spinning at 9000 plus rpm as it screams down the main straight - you should have been at the race track with Club Audi NSW and Circuit Club for the first ever Time Trail event we have had in wet weather for 2007 at Eastern Creek International Raceway, giving most competitors their first ever taste of wet weather circuit racing!
<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/79642/pic00474.jpg">
As the rain gently fell from the heavens, a number of vehicles made anything but gentle contact with the magnetic concrete walls and tyre barriers which line the circuit as the Audi crews stormed through the field almost unaffected by the conditions thanks to the legendary tenacious grip of the Quattro system dominating the mostly rear wheel drive field and placing two drivers (including our Audi Test Pilot in the Projekt A4) firmly in the top 10 out of a field of 60 after the first timed session.
<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/79642/pic00477.jpg">
An array of professional drivers from the Driving Solutions Team, all with a diverse range of Motorsport backgrounds, were on hand all day offering advice and mentoring for drivers, not to forget cutting seconds from their lap times and improving their overall driving techniques in the unforgiving wet weather however, the wet weather, insane racing speeds and dangerously low grip levels began to slowly take their toll on a number of other competitors as tow trucks and franticly waved red flags became a common sight in every session as the field of 60 began to decline...to 42!
<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/79642/pic00495.jpg">
As the track was temporarily closed as tractors and tow trucks were called in to recover vehicles from the circuit the Audi group broke for lunch and when we brake for lunch we do it in style! With an assortment of wine and beer varieties on ice, the BBQ fired up and an endless array of nibbles the **** Racing team (www.MoForacing.net) garage was a hive of activity.
<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/79642/pic00500.jpg">
With the rain stopped and competitors in other heats assisting to dry the circuit, it was time too for the Audi's to spank in some fast dry laps and demonstrate what the Audi's could do in the drying conditions however, as soon as the Audi's lined up on the grid the rained returned...that's racing.
Have you ever wanted to drive your car on a real race track at real racing speeds? Do you want to learn how to drive your Audi at the speeds it was designed for in a safe, controlled, marshalled, police radar free environment by some of Australia's leading Motorsport drivers/coaches?
<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/79642/canswlogo.jpg">
It is a lot easier (and cheaper) than you might think, so keep an eye on the Club Audi NSW action packed 2007 calendar or contact our event secretary Marc, at <b>Marc@ClubAudiNSW.org.</b><ul><li><a href="http://www.clubaudinsw.org">http://www.clubaudinsw.org</a</li></ul>

Looks like a top day.
I find now with the B6 S4 gearbox/torsen install, i get a lot more power to the rear and have to be careful again on the accelerator, as the back end can now swing out easily with 371KW@wheels out of my little 4 cylinder turbo.
