Default Control Arm

dose anyone know if there is a current recal for early generation B5 A4's for the Lower control arms?

Im a bit of a n00b but I think I might have a faulty control arm (what are the aparent symptoms?).

Thankyou in advance.

There is a recall for some of the front bushings - but not the contorl arm itself.

You can check it yourself if you have access to a hoist - with the weight off the wheel grab the control arm and give it a good tug and see if there is any play in it - if its firm its fine - if its loose its knackered.

Yeah, thanks for that,

If audi arnt willing to fix under the recal what part costs are involved if the bushing is knackerd.

Isnt there an uper and lower, (which one dose audi cover under the recall)?

Thanks

The recall is for the lower suspension links on B5's. Only the straight on and is only based on the ball joint end being loose. Any dealer will check it out and can tell you if the inspection has been done or not (have your vin ready when you book in). If they need replacing you have to come back for another visit as Audi Aust wont approve the work on the same day.
