Search is acting up....Best way to remove tar on paint?
I tried claybar a while back, and just gave up. Took too long, and I still couldn't get it all off. Its especially bad on the lower back bumper. Not noticeable because my car is black, but I notice it. Anything I can soak on the tar in and then have it wipe off somewhat easily?

I don't know why people use clay on tar when solvents work so easily.
Just about any petroleum based solvent will work on tar. I still use ye olde "No. 7" tar and bug remover. Goo gone will work. Lighter fluid will work. One Grand makes a tar remover that works. Even baby oil will work (although I recommend that for beach tar on your feet and not on your car). In my experience none of these products will harm the paint, although they'll strip the wax very efficiently. The trick isn't removing the tar, it's making sure you remove the remover by washing the spot thoroughly...and then waxing again.
