Default Dealership shop rate to install a block heater?

Anyone know what the Audi dealership would charge to install a block heater on my '88 90q? Old I5 engine.

Zerostart PN# 3100035

Is it even worth the trouble of asking, or should I just pick up the block heater at Cdn Tire and install it myself?

I've been using CT oil pan heaters for the last few yrs to avoid cracking into the old blocks

Default Their rates were $102+/hr six yrs ago when I used a dealer last.

I am sure they dropped their prices since... lol

Default use anyone except Audi to do this...

it does not require much Audi knowledge to install and the price will be much more reasonable.

Audi $200 +/-

Others $100 +/- including block heater.

You think it's risky to be popping out the frost plugs on the old I5's?

Default Thats the answer I needed. Thanks. ;)

Was feeling lazy this afternoon. Going to have the car on the hoist this weekend when I go home to my father's house.

Default Yep. None of my fleet has leaking engines, but if I were to start messing w/ something...

I mean you could use a bunch of sealant to make sure the heater wouldn't leak, but I'm just a little cautious about it still.
