Does anyone know if I get a speeding ticket from a federal cop if the points will transfer to MD?

The cop told me they probably wouldn't, but since I just went to court today on a different ticket and got 2 points I just really want to find out before I just pay it. Thanks.

Default probably not, but it really doesn't matter

your MD traffic record will note what the ticket was for, and if your insurance company checks your driving record they will adjust your rates accordingly, regardless of points accessed.

Default I'm getting ready to switch insurance in december...should i try going to court then?

Between the two i got today and the 2 that will be added if i just pay (well...potentially). That would be 4 points total...i'll probably take a beating on insurance if that's the case.

Default In my own experience

if were convicted, they adjust accordingly, regardless of points. For me it was based on the insurance company's own standards for tickets.

for example, my current company (Erie) was cool with 1 ticket, < 20mph over the limit. A ticket bigger than that, or more than 1 ticket, and I would have been charged a much higher rate.

Why are you waiting till Dec?

Options:
-get an insurance company to write you now
-get a court date and keep filing continuances as long as possible, then get your new ins, then go to court and deal w/ it.

Not sure how to deal w/ feds though :-\
