Default MD Inspection BT: Couple of questions about Maryland inspection...

1. Will my car pass inspection without a front plate? I've been running without a front plate for 2 years and really don't want to put one on now. This car was originally titled and registered in MD in October 2004, so I believe all I'll need is the "emmissions" inspection.

2. I just bought a 2nd "beater" car which was inspected and registered in VA, and now I need to register it in MD. Does it need to be inspected in MD before I can register it here?

3. Need a recommendation for a "friendly" inspection station near Rockville, MD.

TIA

Default Maybe, Yes, Dunno...

As I've always said and done...just bring it as is to get inspected. They address just what they fail you for (if they DO fail you)...reinspection at the same location is most often free, and they can't get you for things they might find the second time around.

Good news is you only have to get inspections done ONCE; when you buy/register the car.

I'd recommend installing the front plate, as it's a $50 fine and they've been cracking down a lot across the state.

Also, you'll get a notice for the emissions after you register the car(s).

Default A missing plate won't fail inspection. A cop will give you a ticket though

And your beater will have to pass the MD state inspection to be registered in MD.

Default and then?

all i said it's 2 different things, implying you cannot get both type of inspections done in the same place.

comprehend before you whine at someone. *wink*
