Default oil light

This is for those of you who do your own oil change. Does anyone know how to reset the "OIL" light?

Default Resetting "OIL" light...

I change my oil on my '97 A4 and unfortunately, the service indicators (OIL, IN1, IN2) can not be reset on the 97's unless you have a VAG tool. I'm pretty sure this was also the case with the '96 A4 and the early '98 A4. At some point (98.5??) Audi changed things and there is a procedure (supposedly documented in the owner's manual) which will allow you to reset that service indicator.
Hope this helps,
Andy Hedin

Default Mine goes out when I top off the oil

The oil light on most Audis tells you that you are low on oil. Add a quart.
