Default T28 and stage 3 respectively.

they share cars often, same results...

(Actually I think Ed is sometimes faster in Dan's car, and vice versa but I'll let them comment on that on their own ).

If you are hesitating on getting either a k04 or T28/stage III, don't; just get the T28/stage III.

It is night and day difference re power, although a k04 is easier to drive (power comes on sooner).

regards,
Liam

Default Have the two kits shown themselves to be roughly equal?

I've been gone from the main scene long enough to really have kept up. Did that $10K showdown ever happen?

Are there any particular strenghts and weaknesses of each? I'm paranoid about putting one on my car and blowing up the torsen or something else in the drivetrain.

Default I'm not an expert on either kit, all I know is that I've been in both cars and they are both really

really fast.

But you have to expect to change things like your clutch, etc.

A k04 is more of a "mild" setup, you can get away with just dropping it in your car and not worrying about anything else.

Liam

Default Don't have it in yet. and how does it make it not normal?

It's a running change of the kit. So you guys have a updated MAF housing, does that make the kit not normal?

Default Right, that much you said before -

I was curious as to what the changes are. How'd they change the turbo, what'd they change in the WGA, etc...They're kinda tight lipped about that sort of stuff I realize.

I'm sure when the time comes I'll ask a bit more. May I ask why you went with PES' kit? i.e. what were your personal decisions?

Default Re: Right, that much you said before -

I went with the PES kits because the T28 has a more aggressive wheel and I have more options to upgrade with it and the kit is tuned by GIAC. I also did it because I can put any type of exhaust on the kit since it bolts right up to the stock cat. The first time I ran the kit at the track which was less then 1 week after I put it in I ran 13.6 on a chip that was tuned for a 2000 passat that did not have a fmic on it.

The APR upgrade is a stronger wastegate actuator with a bent actuator arm to move it way from the turbo housing and the intake wheel is replace with one that has a different pitch.
